The 5000 Series Rotor is a rugged mid-range gear-drive rotary sprinkler, offering durability, performance, and the convenience of arc adjustment from the top, for residential and light commercial applications.
This versatile rotor offers a standard rubber cover and the convenience of reversing full-and part-circle operation (up to 360 degrees) in one unit. And, with a tree of Rain Curtain™ nozzles, the 5000 Series Rotor offers excellent distribution for top-notch efficiency. All of this, a proven gear-driven design, and a five-year trade warranty, makes the 5000 Series Rotor one head that will "Take Performance to the Top."
The Rain Bird 5000 professional series is compatible with the economy 42SA model.
Note on the 42SA model: The 42SA model has only one 3 GPM nozzle when purchased.Which is not recommended because this nozzle consumes too much water. In addition, the nozzles must be purchased separately. That's what the big box store doesn't tell you!
Here for less or equal price, you have the 5000 professional series including all the nozzles!
SAM model = Seal-A-Matic (SAM) check valve holds up to 7 feet (2.1m) of elevation change to prevent puddling and erosion caused by low head drainage.
Note on SAM model: The SAM model should be drained with special care. A pressure that is too high risks damaging or even dislocating the head of the sprinkler because the check valve retains the pressure.
